June 12th, 2010 - Recommendation
Fellow Neighbors,
I recently had my house painted and thought I would share my experience with everyone that might also be looking for a painting company. The process began by looking on The Woodland Lakes Estates website for a preferred painting company. At the time I looked there were two companies listed and I contacted and received bids from both of them. After reviewing the bids, I chose to place a contract with River City Painting based on the following two reasons: (1) lowest cost of the two bids; and (2) additional work called out in their bid to replace a board that obviously needed replaced was not called out in the other bid. Both bids stated that additional damage found or work required during the course of the job could result in an increased cost so I can only speculate this would have further increased the cost of the other bid if I had signed their contract.

Upon signing the bid with River City Painting, the real experience that I believe sets this company apart from the rest began and that is in the area of total customer satisfaction. They started the process by having a paint specialist in their company review the existing color of my house and discuss with me what color/look I was wanting. From there this individual brought out several color samples to my house and actually ended up painting a small area of the house with the final selection to ensure that I would be happy with the color after it has dried on the house. The other company told me I would have to go to the paint store and pick out a paint scheme without any of this personalized service. Already River City Painting was setting itself up as a company that focused on the customer.

With regards to the painters, they were very respectful, courteous and professional during the entire process. They were a pleasure to talk to and went out of their way to ensure I was happy with the final outcome.

During the course of painting the house, additional work outside the scope of the bid was required and handled in the following manner: (1) an additional board was discovered that needed replaced. This replacement was performed at no additional charge; and (2) the owner called me and asked if it would be alright to paint the downspouts to match the color of the house. Even though it was not part of the original bid, he thought it would present a cleaner and more professional look. I agreed, especially since once again there was no additional charge for the work.

During the final walk around with the owner, a few minor touchups were noted and he immediately called his crew and within a half hour everything was taken care of along with the promise that if I were to ever notice anything else that might have been missed on the review to just give them a call and they would take care of it for me.

In summary, while my initial decision to choose River City Painting was based entirely on cost, their desire to provide total customer satisfaction from start to finish is why I am highly recommending them to my fellow neighbors. If anyone would like to ask me any further questions about this great experience, please sent me an email and I will be happy to answer your questions.

Thank You,
Johnny Smith
